San Jose, CA.—March 15, 2004—Veraz Networks, a leading global provider of carrier-grade next-generation telephony solutions, announced CosmoCom, a leading enabler of converged networks and next-generation applications, has joined the Veraz Open Systems Alliance (VOSA) partner program. Working together, both companies will deliver end-to-end hosted call center services to carriers and service providers. Customers will benefit with a combined, turnkey IP telephony service solution that reduces capital overhead and lowers operational costs by delivering easier billing options and reduced resources for managing technical issues.
The interoperability of the Veraz and CosmoCom products enables customers to install end-to-end solutions for fast and easy deployment of new enhanced IP services. The turnkey IP telephony solution includes the Veraz ControlSwitch and I-Gate media gateways interoperating with CosmoCom’s CosmoCall Universe contact center platform. Carrier customers that choose the Veraz softswitch/media gateway solution with C7/SS7 PSTN connectivity and the Cosmocom call center platform can offer this application very cost effectively. The standard protocols used for the interoperability of both company’s products are SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) and H.323.
The Veraz ControlSwitch, the distributed softswitch platform, provides a carrier-class solution for next-generation packet telephony services to global service providers. The ControlSwitch with Veraz’s Services Framework enables service providers to develop and deploy new revenue-generating services faster than ever before – up to 90% more efficiently. Based on open and interoperable components, on-the-fly programmability and industry leading metrics for voice quality and bandwidth efficiency, Veraz’s I-Gate 4000 line of award-winning, high-density media gateways delivers true wireline or wireless voice quality for packet telephony.
CosmoCom’s CosmoCall Universe provides next generation capabilities for mission critical contact center applications. Additionally, the carrier-class platform has been carefully designed to enable service providers to offer a completely hosted contact center service from their network. By offering a completely hosted solution, service providers can market ‘Contact Center on Demand’ to their client base, allowing customers to pay only for the contact center services that they use on a month-to-month basis, rather than invest in their own expensive infrastructure.
"Working with Veraz, we can offer service providers a solution that will be easy for them to deploy and maintain for their customers while providing them with a competitive edge that will help to generate revenue faster and retain customers," said Erik Laurence, VP Product Management and Business Development at CosmoCom. "Customers are searching for best-of-breed, turnkey solutions that offer ease and speed of deployment. Joining Veraz’s VOSA partner program complements our offerings perfectly to deliver a winning end-to-end packet telephony solution."
Veraz developed the VOSA partnership program so that carriers can reap the competitive benefits promised by packet-based networks, such as the ability to offer enhanced services and applications from multiple vendors with one comprehensive end-to-end solution.
"With the Veraz VOSA partnership program, we can service our customers with an end-to-end solution that is already interoperable and flexible to meet their demanding and growing needs that will also provide a steady stream of revenues and a competitive edge," said R. Paul Singh, VP, Business Development, Veraz Networks. "Working with partners like CosmoCom enables us to provide profitable solutions like hosted call center applications that allow carriers to focus on garnering new customers and reaching profitability rather than how to deploy new services."
